What are the fees per record/song?
There are no fees to upload music to the platform.
Is it exclusive?
No, the platform is not exclusive. Your music can be uploaded anywhere and be on Valid Music.
When do I get paid?
Artists get paid 5-10 days after the end of the month.
What is Valid's mission statement?
Valid Music's goal is to create a fair and equitable space for streaming, where artists have the opportunity to build long-term audiences.
I’m with a distributor already—can I be on Valid?
Yes, you can be on Valid. However, if your deal is exclusive, you may need to check with your distributor. Otherwise, connect us with your distributor, and we'll handle getting your music on the platform.
How many subscribers are there now?
We haven't launched yet, but we have a robust marketing strategy and partners that we're working with to generate users on the platform. We're heavily invested in the success of the musicians on the platform.
If I don’t like the platform in 30 days, can I take everything down and leave?
You are free to remove your music at any time.
The website says you allow artists to receive direct financial support from fans. How does this work?
Direct financial support comes through sponsorship from users who subscribe to the platform. Upon signing up, a user selects an artist to sponsor, and a portion of their subscription fee is shared with the sponsored artist.
I already have an exclusive licensing and/or distribution deal. Is my music allowed on Valid?
If your deal is exclusive, it's up to your distributor to determine whether they will work with Valid.
I already have music on other streaming platforms uploaded through TuneCore, CD Baby, DistroKid, etc. Will they add my catalog to Valid for me? Or do I have to do that? Is there someone to walk me through the process?
If you're already with a distributor, let us know who they are, and we'll arrange for your catalog to be added to the Valid platform.
How do you pay out and how often?
If you directly upload your music through our system, you are paid via direct deposit no later than 10 days after the end of the calendar month. If your music comes to us via your distributor, it’s up to them to determine when you get paid.
What artists are already on the platform?
We currently have a catalog of over 4,000 tracks, and it’s growing every day.
Will there be video/media capabilities?
Version one of the platform will not have video capabilities, but we are quickly moving to integrate it. We’re close to having the business plan to support video, and we’re excited about what the future holds in this area.
